Privacy policy

The controller of your personal data is the Instituto Universitario de Energía (IUE), based in Managua, Nicaragua. This policy is governed by Law 787, Nicaragua’s Personal Data Protection Law.

Sinsajo Creators is the technology provider that develops and operates this website on behalf of the IUE. It is not the data controller and only accesses data to the extent needed to keep the site running.

• Contact form: name, email address, program of interest and message. When you submit it, your own email app opens with the message already written; the site neither stores nor receives that data. It reaches the IUE only if you send the email.
• Chat assistant: what you type in the chat is sent to Anthropic PBC (United States) to generate the reply. The site does not store conversations. Please do not type sensitive data (passwords, ID documents, health or financial data).
• Connection data: as with any website, the hosting provider (Vercel Inc., United States) receives your IP address and visit metadata (browser, requested page, date and time) to deliver the site and keep it secure.

• Answering your questions about the IUE’s programs, enrollment and services.
• Generating the chat assistant’s replies.
• Delivering, maintaining and securing the website.
• Remembering the language you chose.

We do not use your data for advertising, commercial profiling or automated decisions about you, and we do not sell it.

These third parties, located in the United States, take part in providing the service:

• Anthropic PBC: processes chat messages to generate the assistant’s replies.
• Vercel Inc.: hosts the site and receives connection data.

This means an international transfer of data to a country that may not offer the same level of protection as Nicaragua. By using the chat, after reading the notice shown before your first message, and by ticking the form checkbox, you consent to that transfer. If you disagree, do not use the chat: you can write to us directly at info@institutoenergia.org.

The site uses a single, functional cookie: NEXT_LOCALE, which stores your language (Spanish or English) for 1 year. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, so we do not show a cookie banner.

If you accept the chat assistant notice, your browser also stores that acceptance in its local storage, only so we do not ask again. You can delete it from your browser settings.

You have the right to access, rectify or cancel your personal data, to object to its processing, and to withdraw your consent at any time. Write to info@institutoenergia.org stating which right you wish to exercise and which data it concerns. We will reply within 10 business days, free of charge.

Emails you send us are kept for as long as needed to handle your inquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards to follow up on your interest in our programs; they are then deleted. Chat conversations are not stored on this site; how long Anthropic keeps them is governed by that provider’s terms. We apply reasonable technical measures to protect the site, such as encrypted connections.

This site is not directed at people under 18 and we do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has sent us data, write to info@institutoenergia.org and we will delete it.

If we change this policy, we will publish the new version on this page with its last-updated date.
